Whispers in the dark that no-one will ever hear
Spark in the charcoal etched corners of my mind;
Flashing lights that make the rough shadows rear.
And then, like blood, wash away and disappear
Leaving nothing but scorch marks and stains behind.

stilted shots, the audience
waits for me. choking. oh god
how could this happen
with my throat
twisted up
and my head bound tight
in ropes i'm not sure i want to
untie? snap my brittle
wrists. i'm losing again,
numbers scaling down to a
place i should not be.
a parasite is swallowing
my energy. tests are negative.
i breathe.

just as i drift
into
pale, fading sleep,
his fingernails
claw through
the
material of
my skull.
i don't know who he is but i remember
the wooden floor beneath me
the length of my hair
catching under my back
as i struggle
and
how it felt when he
left me on the floor,
limp

as in love with love and
life as i am,
i am struggling to accept that
good things can't last forever
and a touch
is simply
a touch, fleeting yet
so very beautiful & i'm so stuck
in my own (not so beautiful) brain
dreaming up things that i know
i don't even believe in,
but i want them

a: thanks for teaching me how to laughsometimes it is nice to get lost in rolling laughter and hysterical giggles. around you i'm unconscious of worldly things as our jubilance brings me to greater heights and it becomes easier, and also desirable, to live in our moments.
c: your passion can ignite my sometimes dry-stick souland you know better than most that i'm not the kind that sits around the bonfire, but with you i'm reminded that there's more to life than the to-do list and i can relegate it to kindling as we roast marshmallows on its remains.
